Pro Evolution Soccer 5 Gameplay PES 5 comes with a host of new features that further improve the gaming experience. The biggest change was made in tackling. You will need to pay more attention when holding down the “X” button to put pressure on your opponent as it can lead to fouls. The referees also make more realistic decisions and are more likely to call for a foul and even play advantage. You will also not be able to dribble past the entire defense that easily.
Better control of shooting is also enabled and players with low skills cannot score a screamer easily. The game modes are all pretty familiar from the previous installments. Master League is the core of the game and it really provides a challenge, especially in the beginning. Pro Evolution Soccer 5 full PC game offers a great selection of national and club teams to choose from, although unlicensed teams are still an issue. Fortunately, teams like Real Madrid, Arsenal and Chelsea are all licensed, so you will have the opportunity to enjoy playing with the original kits and players.
The graphics are amazing and the sound is also excellent, especially crowd noise which contributes to the thrill of a football match. It goes without saying, but we love saying it anyway - Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (PES 5) makes the best even better. With the new licensed teams, new trademark moves, massively expanded Master League and variable weather conditions, PES 5 ensures that console football is even closer to the real thing. The best part is, you don't even need to take our word for it. Arsenal's Thierry Henry, and Chelsea's John Terry, will be staring out from the box when Pro Evolution Soccer 5 is launched, this autumn.
The two men, both at the top of their game in the world famous Premiership, are die-hard fans of PES and proud to be involved. We've all got so much to look forward to, starting with the retuned controls giving players more control over weighted passes, one-twos, and so on. This ties in neatly with the improved animation, which not only looks more realistic, but requires you to time kicks and shots perfectly for maximum power - you're more likely to scuff the ball and make weak, inaccurate shots if you attempt to play them while off balance or out of step. The new licensed clubs are all meticulously detailed, including the authentic representation of names and numbers on their backs.
You'll find the most famous players bear an astonishing resemblance to the real thing. Increased detail in all players has been transferred to the Player Design mode, which has been hugely expanded to include more factors determining skill and ability. By Anonymous Better than I could have dreamed!
A lot of people were telling me that this was gonna be a flop compared to pro. Better than I could have dreamed!
A lot of people were telling me that this was gonna be a flop compared to pro evo 4, but how wrong they were. The new control buttons make the game an even greater art to master and the player licensing means that this definitely kicks fifa´s butt. So far I´ve found it quite hard to score, but it´s been like that with all versions - it just takes time to be a champion:) Pros: Animation is much smoother, ball control much improved, real player names - with no need for patches!! Cons: takes a while to get used to the new touch controls. Reviewed on October 31, 2005.
